Team Builds
Team Build | Sponsored & Non-Sponsored
Team Builds with Habitat for Humanity provide a unique, fun and rewarding experience for any group. No previous construction experience is necessary. Habitat will provide the tools, oversight, and opportunity you and your group will need for success. Join us for a meaningful experience that your group won’t soon forget! By participating in a Team Build, your group will play an important role in strengthening our community, and building a brighter future for local community members seeking better sheltering solutions. If you are interested in forming a Team Build Day(s), please view our content below. You can also contact our Volunteer Coordinator via email or phone: 860-398-6484. The max number for volunteers able to work at a build site location is 10 volunteers per day. All team builds must be pre-scheduled in advance.
Team Builds can help:
- Build and strengthen relationships
- Create unique memories
- Improve communication
- Build trust and cooperation
- Develop team-building skills
- Demonstrate your organization’s commitment to community support
- Foster goodwill by helping others
Customize Your Team Build as a Sponsor
Arrange for a day that meets your team’s schedule. Your business/organization can choose from 1 of 3 sponsorship options with your sponsorship funds going directly towards supporting the build your team will be on. Your team will provide the labor, and Habitat will provide building resources, supervision, tools, and safety equipment. Sponsored Team Build Days are available throughout the week and also run from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Middlesex Habitat will gladly work with you to adapt a Team Build experience for your business/organization.
Youth on a Build Site
The minimum age to participate on a build site is 16-17 with an adult chaperone to a ratio of 1 chaperone to 5 youth.
Please note: construction delays, weather-related issues and other unforeseen factors beyond our control occasionally require us to change a scheduled volunteering date.
While volunteers are a critical element of Habitat’s home building processes, contributions enable us to acquire properties, purchase building materials, and have the skilled staff necessary to provide our volunteers with a safe and meaningful building experience. Your donations also make it possible for us to sell Habitat homes below cost to deserving homeowners with affordable mortgage, limiting our homeowners’ housing expenses to no more than 30% of their income.
